According to Dr Patrick Gallois, a senior lecturer from the University of Manchester, Ultraviolet-C radiations cause damage to all living organisms, including bacteria, fungi and insects. The DNA (of targeted organisms) is one of the key targets for UV-induced damage.
If the UV dose applied is very high, it will cause a catastrophic failure of all molecular mechanisms and this will have a direct lethal effect at the cell or organism level. It does not kill outright but cause a damage that is beyond a rapid repair, cells will activate a self-destruction mechanism in order not to penalise future generations with DNA mutations. In bacteria, which are single cells, the whole organism is destroyed. In nulticellular organisms including fungi and insects, if a sufficient number of cells self-destruct, the whole organism will die.
Raycop is the world’s first line of UVC anti-allergy cleaners and uses a unique three-step allergy care system to remove mites, dust, allergens and larger pollutants. Raycop also uses a two-stage filtration system to ensure that all of these stay trapped, rather than re-entering the air. Raycop carries out all of these steps automatically as it moves across a surface. Raycop is as easy to use as an ordinary vacuum cleaner but cleans and sterilizes in ways no ordinary vacuum can.
